Super chunky cable cushion

It's been a few months in the making, but I've finally finished my super chunky cushion and I love it.  My daughter tells me it's the "softest, comfiest cushion in the whole wide world". She's a child of superlatives, but I'll take the praise anyway!

It's now sitting all plump and lovely in the conservatory and it's starting to look a bit more cosy in there.

The diamond cable took quite a bit of concentration as it had cables on every row, so I decided to work a stag horn cable on the reverse side of the cushion.  Once I'd worked out the pattern, the back knitted up in just a few hours.

I was intrigued to see how the same cushion would look knitted up in chunky yarn instead of super chunky, so I bought some Supreme Wendy chunky cotton yarn in platinum to make a second, smaller one.

I fancied a quick knit this time, so I worked out a stag horn cable pattern for the front and I think that the 2 cushions complement each other well.  I can't quite decide if having them sitting together might be a bit too much though...

... so for now, the little one is currently residing on my spinning chair.
